Coordinating the First Land Portfolios
Over the past year, LandDAO evaluated land opportunities across six regions: Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Namibia, Portugal, Spain, and Scotland. These locations were selected based on legal clarity, long-term value, and their suitability for tokenization within a decentralized framework.
Within these regions, the focus is on acquiring residential and agricultural lands with strong practical utility and long-term potential. Each parcel is represented as an NFT backed by a real-world asset (RWA) and made accessible through LandDAO.
Groundwork Before Governance
Beyond scouting, extensive time was spent on the ground to build trust and verify each opportunity. Engagements with landowners, traditional rulers, legal experts, and land surveyors revealed a key insight: real-world ownership is rooted in relationships and local legitimacy, not speculation.
This understanding defines LandDAO’s approach to land selection. Properties are not chosen based on appearance or trend but through direct engagement, thorough assessment, and verified documentation of each title.
A System for Collective Stewardship
LandDAO is a DAO designed for coordinated ownership and transparent on-chain governance. Each land parcel that enters the DAO is mapped, tokenized, and collectively stewarded through clear governance rules.
LandDAO’s governance model is designed to let members propose, vote, and decide on land matters, like where to expand next, how to manage community funds, or when to exit or lease lands. We’ll go deeper into these mechanics soon, but at its core, the DAO is about collective long-term stewardship, not quick flips.

Every plot of land is non-fungible by nature, defined by its location, legal structure, and potential. That’s why we represent land as NFTs, not generic tokens. Each NFT maps to a specific real-world land, with its own characteristics and verified documentation.
This approach captures the uniqueness of land while making it tradable, ownable, and governable on-chain.
